Privacy Policy

Love, Hate, Record is a personal journal for recording your feelings and thoughts. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the app.

Effective: October 13, 2026 · Last updated: October 13, 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Love, Hate, Record web app and its official support pages. If the app or its data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date.

You can manage entries in your browser without an account or server sync. The app does not use advertising or user behavior analytics.

2. Information we handle

Entries and settings you create

In the web app, your entries, dates and creation times, categories, palettes, and display-language choice are stored in your browser's local storage. In an iOS or Android app package, the same information may be stored in the app's private on-device storage. This data is not sent to the developer's servers. It may no longer be available if browser site data is cleared or you switch browsers or devices.

Backup files

When you export from Settings, your entries are created as a JSON file. On the web, you save it to a location you choose; on iOS and Android, you can send it through the system share feature to Files, messages, email, cloud storage, or another app. When you import, the app reads the file you select on your device and merges it with your existing entries. The developer cannot access the file. Any later sharing or storage by another app or cloud service is governed by that service's policies.

Support inquiries

If you email support, we handle your email address and information in your message as needed to respond. We retain it only while resolving your inquiry and keeping any necessary records.

Automatically collected information and web hosting

The app does not collect advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, health information, or app usage analytics. Font files are hosted with the app. Vercel, which hosts these web pages, may process access logs such as IP addresses and browser request information to provide and secure its service. See the Vercel Privacy Policy for details.

3. How we use information

  • To save entries in your browser and show them by date
  • To provide JSON export and import when you request it
  • To respond to support inquiries and help resolve issues

We do not use entry contents for advertising, profiling, automated translation, or sale.

4. Storage and deletion

Entries and settings remain in browser storage on the web and in the app's private storage on iOS and Android. Delete entries in the app, or clear this site's data in your browser settings, to remove the corresponding local data. Deleting the app will generally remove its private on-device storage through the operating system, but data may remain in iCloud or Google backups and in JSON files you saved separately. You must delete backup data and JSON files from their respective backup or storage locations.

5. Third-party sharing and processing

We do not sell or provide app entries to third parties. Vercel provides web hosting, and its policies apply to hosting access logs. If you email us, your message is delivered through your email service provider.
